Real people.
Real progress.
Every client we work with has a story.
Some wanted to retire earlier. Others wanted to help their children onto the property ladder or gain confidence about their future. We’re proud to play a small part in those life-changing moments.

Stepping into retirement
Service: Developed Principles.
David and Sarah, both 62 — winding down, but worried they didn’t know what “enough” looked like.
After 35 years in engineering David had built up half a dozen pensions across former employers, and Sarah’s part-time HR career had added a smaller defined-contribution pot. They came to us with a date in mind for retirement, but every kitchen-table conversation seemed to end with a different number — and a fresh worry. Could they really afford to stop? What was the most tax-efficient order to draw from? How much could they help their daughter with a house deposit without compromising their own security?
We brought David and Sarah’s full picture together on a single page for the first time. We modelled three retirement scenarios in cashflow — including a “what if one of us needed care” version — and built a drawdown sequence to optimise assets in a tax efficient manner. They retired the following spring, on the date they’d hoped for, and have since helped their daughter buy her first home.
Building something to pass on
Service: Developed Principles.
Ravi and Anita, in their late fifties — a successful business, three children, complexity creeping in.
When Ravi first sat down with us he was running a profitable consultancy he’d spent two decades building, and he and Anita were starting to think three to five years out from a sale. They appreciated they needed to begin exit planning early but that was as far as they’d taken it. They wanted to structure the sale proceeds in a way that provided for them in their lifetime, whilst protected their children beyond it.
We helped Ravi and Anita design a long-horizon plan that knits together their business, their personal pensions, their investment portfolio and their estate, and we sat alongside their accountant and solicitor so the advice joined up. They’ve since put trust arrangements in place for the grandchildren, gifted into the children’s pensions, and are on track for the sale they wanted. The biggest change, they say, is that the family conversations now start from a position of clarity rather than anxiety.
Starting strong
Service: Foundation Principles.
Alex and Jess, mid-twenties — the next generation of a family we’ve advised for years.
Alex’s parents have been clients of Money Principles for over a decade, and when Alex and his partner Jess completed on their first home together, his mum suggested they come and talk to us. Between them they had two auto-enrolment pensions, a small Lifetime ISA each, and a vague feeling that they ought to be “doing more” with their money. They worried that the financial advice industry wasn’t really meant for people in their mid-twenties — and that by the time it was, they’d have wasted a decade of compounding.
That’s exactly why we created Foundation Principles. We helped Alex and Jess set up sensible monthly contributions into a low-cost diversified portfolio, made sure their workplace pensions were working as hard as they could, and put basic life cover in place now that they had a mortgage. We’re due to review with them again shortly and we’ll graduate them up our service levels as their lives grow more complex.
A fresh start
Service: Core Principles.
Becca, 54 — newly divorced, financially independent for the first time in three decades.
When Becca came to us, she had just finalised her divorce after 28 years of marriage. The settlement included a pension sharing order, half the equity from the family home, and the small pension she had built up since returning to part-time work in her forties. On paper she was financially secure — but her ex-husband had always handled the household finances, and she felt overwhelmed at the prospect of making decisions on her own. She did not know what she had, what she needed it to do, or how long it had to last.
We took our time. We pulled everything together onto a single page, walked Becca through her options at her pace, and modelled a cashflow plan that showed her clearly that she could buy a smaller home outright, maintain the lifestyle she wanted, and still be on track for the retirement she had been quietly worried she would never have. We meet twice a year as she settles into her new chapter, and she tells us she now feels in charge of her own finances for the first time in her adult life.

Steve Moran, Reading:
Fraser and the team at Money Principles have now helped us with our mortgage for both an initial house purchase and then the renewal at the end of the term.
Simply put the team are brilliant. Fraser made the process all that bit less stressful knowing we had him to support us through the process each time. With the volatility in the market when we came for renewal, Fraser went above and beyond to ensure we were able to benefit from the best rate and lock in. He and the team are clearly all over the current situation and adjusting their advice accordingly.
Many thanks to Money Principles! We’re pleased to have found a company we can put our trust in, to use again and again!
